Incline High School football players will see their first real taste of action in 2010 when they square off against Tahoe Basin rivals Whittell and North Tahoe in a preseason scrimmage Saturday evening.
The scrimmage is scheduled for 5 p.m. at North Tahoe High School.
“We're looking pretty good,” said second-year Incline head coach Mike Evans, who expects to suit up 26 or 27 players for the scrimmage. “I think we're a little further ahead than last year.”
The Highlanders will look to rebound from a 2-6 campaign last year when they open the regular season at perennial power Battle Mountain on Sept. 3. They host Silver Stage in their home opener on Sept. 10.
Evans also is seeking about four or five more freshmen or sophomore players to form a junior varsity team. Anyone interested in playing JV football may contact Evans at 775-240-5763 or mevans@littleflowerschoolnv.org.
