INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Mike Pennacchio, the Incline Village General Improvement District's risk manager, has been recognized as the Public Risk Management Association as the 2010 Public Risk Manager of the Year.
He is the 17th public entity risk manager to receive this honor since its inception in 1994. The national award was established to reward a risk manager who has effectively coordinated and managed a risk management program for a public entity facing out-of-the-ordinary challenges. He was selected by a panel of his peers for this prestigious award.
Lisa Lopinsky, executive director of the Public Risk Management Association said: “Mike's commitment to his entity's fiscal well-being made him a standout in a very competitive field of candidates this year. He has shown the kind of dedication to public sector safety and accountability that personifies the Association's Public Risk Manager of the Year.”
Association President Ms. Laura Peterson said: “Mike is a credit to government service and the risk management profession and I want to take a moment to personally thank him for all he has done and will continue to do.”
