The Incline High boys soccer team dropped its home and league opener, 3-0, to first-year Northern 3A member South Tahoe this past Thursday, Sept. 2.
South Tahoe senior Kory DiGrande opened the scoring in the 30th minute on a feed from Eddie Hernandez. Five minutes into the second half, Hernandez made it 2-0, scoring off a cross from Luca Genasci. Derek Caro scored the Vikings' final goal, knocking a corner kick off the back of a defender and into the goal.
The defending 3A champion Highlanders are now 0-1 in the Northern 3A Sierra League and 1-2-1 overall. The Vikings also defeated Incline 3-1 in the season-opening Howell Memorial Tournament at Galena.
