Casting directors for ABC's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette this week notified local media outlets to help find the next Travis and Sarah or Trista and Ryan.
"We're scouring the (area), looking for the most eligible, charming single people," said Robyn Kass, casting director of The Bachelor, a series that introduces one guy to 25 different women through a variety of dates and hopefully results in popping the question.
Kass said the Tahoe area is a focal point for the search because "we like the guys and girls up there and you never know what you're going to find."
"Small towns often have the hidden gems," she added.
Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be a millionaire doctor to apply.
"We're not looking for someone who is rich," she said. "We're looking for someone who is driven, has a lot going on in their life, is charismatic, well- spoken and is definitely going somewhere - and most importantly, ready to fall in love."
A serious commitment is a must, Kass said, as the chosen applicant will have to give up six to eight weeks of their life to film in an exotic, romantic location.
"This show isn't for people who want to be on reality TV," she said. "Our goal with every show is find a true, loving couples."
Incline Village/Crystal Bay Chamber of Commerce executive director Jim Jeffers said when Kass first contacted him about the casting call, he wasn't sure want to think.
"It's a tall order to fill," Jeffers said. "It would bring a lot of notoriety to Incline Village and it's another great chance to put Incline on the map, but I've called a few people in town and I'm just not sure we've got what they need."
This season will be the ninth installment of The Bachelor and applications are due August 17.
Sometime in the next few months Kass said there could be an open casting call in the Tahoe area for people interested in applying to become the next Bachelor or Bachelorette as well as one of their suitors.
