Just as the early morning powder hound gets the best runs, volunteers for the school ski swap will get the best deals at the 42nd annual ski swap.

This year, the annual event will be run by the North Tahoe Middle and High Schools and will take place at the school gyms on Saturday, November 11th at 10 a.m.

People who sign up and volunteer as ski swap workers will be able to pre-shop the 10,000 ski/snowboard related items at the swap early Saturday morning before the doors open to the public. Volunteers work four-hour shifts in a variety of positions during the swap, or for setup or takedown the day before or after the swap.

All comers welcome, whether you can help with making change, unloading items for sale, it doen't matter , you are needed.

More than just a ski swap, this annual event has grown into one of the biggest and best in the West with both new and used gear and clothing. Held at the North Tahoe Middle and High Schools in Tahoe City, the swap happens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.11.

Some come and beat the shopping rush and get the best stuff before it opens to the public.
