For photographer Hollye Schumacher the quote above by George Carlin, prominent on all of her business cards and flyers, is a subtle reminder that life's moments are precious and should not be taken for granted.

"That quote inspires me to create images that are real, powerful, and timeless so that my clients can relive the emotion from those moments," Schumacher said.

Schumacher has been a photographer as long as she could remember and with a camera around her neck at all times, she enjoys capturing a natural state of all of her clients - even four legged, furry ones.

Schumacher specializes in weddings, pet portraits and family sessions.

Throughout the year, Schumacher hosts photography workshops to help nonprofessionals with their skills.

"I'm very passionate about wedding photography," she said. "There is something extremely sacred about the whole act of photographing a wedding and creating images that convey the love between two people."

To capture life's moments in her family sessions, Schumacher offers "a day in the life of" service that includes photographing on location a family's day together.

Schumacher then custom designs albums to tell the story of the family.

Although most of her time is spent traveling for her photography, her love for Tahoe and her clients in the Incline area makes her available year-round.

"I have been coming to Tahoe during the summers all my life," she said. "It was where I first learned to ride a bike, drive a boat, water and snow ski. I live in Arizona most of the year and travel. My father still lives in Incline and I reserve my summers to photograph in Incline."

Family pets are Schumacher's specialty, however she dedicates her time to animal shelters by taking adoption photos for nonprofits like www.petfinder.org, a nationwide pet finding service.
