Starting this season, the Tahoe Donner Ski School will begin to integrate Harald Harb's "PMTS Direct Parallel" teaching system into its class offerings.

This is the much talked about system developed by Harald Harb through his extensive racing experience and as a coach of national medalists and Olympians.

Along with biomechanics, physiotherapists, and educators, Harb has crafted a new, scientifically based way to learn skiing.

In "Direct to Parallel" lessons, skiers learn more quickly and enjoy skiing sooner.

Many beginning students ski parallel on their first day, after only two hours of "Direct to Parallel" lessons.

Intermediate skiers who have taken the program say they have more fun and expert skiers improve in bumps, advanced terrain, and variable snow conditions.

How does it work?

"PMTS Direct Parallel" teaches expert level movements right from the beginning to all levels of skiers, avoiding outdated, dead end maneuvers that must be unlearned later.

These expert movements are biomechanically accurate Ð studied and tested by high level instructors Ð and they take advantage of the design advantages of shaped skis.

Skiing progress comes through refining the same movements, rather than learning and discarding maneuvers.

"PMTS Direct Parallel" technique helps to quickly unlock all the performance potential of the new shaped skies.

Success rates for first time beginner skiers using the "PMTS Direct Parallel" have been much higher than traditional methods.

"We like to see first time skiers smiling and having fun and this method delivers," said Jim Gregory, Tahoe Donner Ski School Manager.
