Education for all ages

Print Comment
On top of high-performing public schools, Incline is home to the private pre-kindergarten through 8th grade Lake Tahoe School and the only four-year accredited private university in Nevada, Sierra Nevada College.

Lake Tahoe School
The Lake Tahoe School is a state accredited elementary and middle school that emphasizes analytical thought and public service. They offer a range of after school classes and field trips and a small student-to-teacher ratio.

Sierra Nevada College
Sierra Nevada College is a small liberal arts school that offers Baccalaureate degrees in five departments: Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Science, International Studies, Management and Science & Technology. The school also offers a Master of Arts in teaching program. The Sierra Nevada college campus, just a few hundred yards from Lake Tahoe itself, includes dorm space, dining room and a state-of-the-art library.

Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences
The college campus is also home to the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences. This new center offers office space to four other academic institutions: the University of California Davis, the Desert Research Institute, the University of Nevada Reno and the Carnegie Mellon University.

For environmental researchers around the basin the center represents a collaboration and shared commitment to improving the watershed and environment of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

The little folks
Educational opportunities abound for Incline’s youngest residents. The nonprofit and non-denominational Incline Village Child Care Center and Preschool at the Village Presbyterian Church has welcomed 3-5 year olds for more than 30 years.

Le Petite Kids Club and the Village Christian Child Care are not preschools but offer children the chance to interact with youth their own ages.
