55+ Fitness Classes
A fitness class for community members ages 55+
These 40-minute classes held three times a week are designed specifically to increase muscle strength, enhance range of motion, realign and define body shape, improve posture, increase blood circulation and increase flexibility and balance.
Generation Connection
Generation Connection, an intergenerational program is designed to foster relationships between the Incline Village Middle School Volunteer Club and local seniors to various fun activities.
W.A.C (Walk at the Chateau)
Seniors are free to drop in Wednesday mornings anytime between 6 a.m. and 8:30 am for a safe, ice free stroll around the Chateau meeting rooms. Enjoy casual conversation & companionship.
Lifelong Learning with Sierra Nevada College
Seniors 60+ are welcome to audit select Sierra Nevada College courses on a space available basis. Add to the dynamics of the learning experience through this intergenerational exchange.
Senior Nutrition Program
The 2006-2007 Senior Nutrition Program partnership between IVGID and Project MANA, made possible by a grant from Washoe County Senior Services, will focus on meeting and addressing the nutritional needs of the Incline Village, Crystal Bay senior communities. Beginning this fall yearlong lectures, presentations and interactive cooking classes will be available to seniors. The classes will focus on important questions and obstacles in learning how to maximize good nutrition for healthy aging.
Crafters Café
Hands on useful craft projects including scrapbooking and photo album creation, ceramics, seasonal and holiday specific crafts and gift making.
Brown Bag Workshops
Seniors bring their own lunch for informal workshops featuring dynamic speakers sharing valuable information on pertinent senior topics.
Digital Photography Club
This informal club instructs one to maximize the technology that is used today in photography. Personal digital cameras or computers are not necessary.
Participant-driven agendas, instructions and activities include:
• Local Photo shoots
• Step by step instruction on camera use
• Downloading photos
• File management and photo organization
• Basic editing (using free internet software from Google.com)
• Sharing photos online
• Interesting presenters sharing their knowledge, skills and photos
