Dressed as silly girls, wacky sidekicks and even dancing forks and napkins, 14 Incline Village students will appear in performances of "Beauty and the Beast" in Reno Dec. 4 through 10.
"It's been hard, but it's been really rewarding," said Taylor Smith, 14, who plays Madame De La Grand Bouche.
The 14 Incline students are part of a 244-person cast performing in the Tahoe Players Theatre production, Director Monica Folio said. Students from schools all over Northern Nevada will be attending the 10-school performances Dec. 4-10 at 9:45 a.m and 11:45 a.m. in the Grand Theatre at the Grand Sierra Resort.
"Beauty and the Beast" will also have public performances Dec. 9 at 1 and 4 p.m. at the Grand Theatre.

Folio said she chose "Beauty and the Beast" because she tries to pick plays with messages.
"This show tells children that if someone is different it's OK," Folio said. "It's something every child can relate to."
"Beauty and the Beast" is a stage adaptation based on Disney's Academy Award-winning 1991 animated film. The play centers around Belle, the daughter of an inventor, who is dissatisfied with country life. When her father gets lost on the way to an invention fair, Belle goes to find him and instead finds that he has been imprisoned by a beast. She trades her freedom for her father's and spends the rest of the play learning about the enchantment placed on the Beast and his household.
Cast members have been rehearsing in Reno since the beginning of September for the productions.

"Sometimes you don't want to go to rehearsal, but once you get on stage it's totally worth it," said Kerrie Tonking, 11 who plays a fork.
The rehearsal process is a chance to work with other actors and see long-time friends said Mitch Comstock, 13, who plays Lefou.
"Sometimes it's like a big party because you enjoy acting and being with the cast," Comstock said. "But when it gets down to crunch time you have to get serious.
While Folio said she is excited to see this year's performance come to fruition, she also just decided on next year's show which will be "Willy Wonka."
