There is a new buzz in town, (actually in mountain towns throughout North America). It's because of a new Web site for mountain dwellers. WildMountainHonies.com is designed to foster community in the mountains where residents are often spread-out and socially isolated.
Unlike corporate dating sites, this new Web site was created by two longtime ski bums who met waiting tables. After talking about the limitations of the local bar scene, they decided to create a Web site exclusively for mountain dwellers. www.WildMountainHonies.com is not just for dating, but is designed to expand the members' circle of friends. The response has been overwhelming. From grandmothers looking for friends to carpool with while antiquing, to hardcore mountaineers organizing expeditions, this site is incredibly versatile.
The Web site doesn't have traditional dating-site questions, instead it has lighthearted, yet revealing questions like, "do you own gear held together with duct tape?" Logging onto www.WildMountainHonies.com and setting up a profile just to check it out is free, anonymous, and safe. For those who decide on full access membership it can be used for dating, meeting like-minded friends, finding traveling companions, etc.
This month the first fifty people to join will get the "twofer" deal, if you enroll for a year they match that with another year for free.
The best part of WildMountainHonies.com is that instead of meeting people from cities and suburbs whom you have nothing in common with, you can now meet and visit with people who live in mountain communities just like you. Finally a community for like-minded mountain dwellers everywhere.
