Responding to the foreclosure crisis

Print Comment
Sen. Harry Reid and State Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley have produced a public service announcement to help Nevadans respond to a mortgage foreclosure crisis they say is even worse than they had thought.

The 30-second public service announcement that will begin running statewide on television and radio stations in December provides a telephone number to call for help -- 1 (800) 451-4505 -- and Reid's Web site. The site notes that Nevada has the highest foreclosure rate in the nation with one out of every 165 mortgages being foreclosed upon. New figures show the rae is a bit worse -- one out of every 154 in Nevada, according to Realty-Trac Inc. based in Irvine, Calif. The national average is one in 555.
