Red, White and Tahoe Blue will be celebrating our country's heritage July 2-4; however, this year will be bigger and better, according to organizers.

Those events which were successful last year will be returning with some new and expanded twists. The parade size will be increased with the addition of at least one band, the USO show extended to also include local talent as well as the Andrew Sisters Revisited, and food venues will be at the events. The Rubber Ducky Race will have more quackers and a duck calling contest. Wine and Cheese will have more vintners.

The fireworks chairman, Tom Masterson, is negotiating with the Reno Philharmonic to provide a Fourth of July concert and then be the background music for the fireworks display.

However, the most pressing need of Red, White and Tahoe Blue is funding, organizers said. The ultimate goal of the organization is to provide substantial funding for the six collaborators of the event, according to Tom Bruno, president of Red, White and Tahoe Blue. He emphasizes that there is a multitude of events which will be free to the public such as nightly entertainment and the viewing of the rubber duck race and the fireworks. Bruno is asking the public to consider all of the moments of fantastic memories being realized and to consider donating at least $100 per family. Contributions may be made out to: Red, White and Tahoe Blue, and sent to P.O. Box 3149, Incline Village, NV 89450. RWTB appreciates the monetary support of a true American tradition - a grand celebration of our nation's birth.
