Diamond Peak Events: Jiblet contest and more

Shralp it up Sunday at the jib contest at Diamond Peak
Freestyle skiers and snowboarders are invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind event, the Diamond Peak Jiblet. The Diamond Peak Jiblet will take place on a special feature in front of the base lodge deck. The event is open to skiers and snowboarders of intermediate/advanced abilities and the divisions are as follows.
• Skiers (Men/Women) - 11 and under, 12-16 years old and an open division.
• Snowboarders (Men/Women) - 11 and under, 12-16 years old and an open division.
The Diamond Peak Jiblet will be a jam-style format with a winner-take-all cash prize for each of the open divisions. The price of the event is $10 and all the registration money goes into a winner-take-all pot. Registration will be held on the base lodge deck from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Prizes include a pair of Women's Hart Skis, gift certificates to shops around town, Diamond Peak swag and more.

Annual uphill race is Saturday
The second annual uphill race is Saturday at Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Go up to the Snowflake Lodge under your own power, with skis with skins or snowshoes, and you need to have equipment to ski or ride down from Snowflake Lodge - skis, snowboards, telemark skis or split boards are all acceptable. The opposite of the famous Last Tracks, this First Tracks Uphill Race will challenge people interested in going up the mountain on their own. Enjoy breakfast and award ceremony at Snowflake Lodge and ski or ride for the rest of the day. Race starts at 8 a.m. Prizes will be provided for best time (male and female) plus a raffle for everyone participating. The cost is $10 which includes a T-shirt.
