Basketball camp sign-ups under way
The eighth annual Incline Hoops On The Hill Summer Basketball Camps are now taking sign-ups. The camp dates are June 30 through July 4. There will be two sessions a day. The first through seventh grade session from 9 a.m. to noon, while the eighth through 12th grade session takes place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Cost of the camp is $150 per session. Cost will include a camp reversible practice jersey and a camp basketball. The camp will include two indoor courts with 14 baskets.

Incline High School Athletic Director Dan Schreiber, boys varsity basketball coach at the school, is the camp director. In 12 years at Incline High School, Schreiber has accumulated 11 regional appearances and five divisional championships. The Highlanders have been to the state semifinals three times, and he is a four-time coach of the year. His staff also includes IHS boys basketball varsity assistant coach Micha Corneil Sr. Some Highlander varsity basketball players also will be on hand.

Adult softball leagues forming, sign up by May 28 for cheap rate
Sign-ups for adult softball leagues with the Incline Village General Improvement District Parks and Recreation Department now are under way.

This season, separate divisions are offered for teams of varying abilities. First, for the men’s softball league, open registration is from now until May 28. The cost is $610 per team. A late registration timeline — from May 29 to June 3 — also is available, but the team cost will be $650.

Games will take place throughout the summer on Tuesdays at Incline Park, starting on June 10.

This year, the coed softball league will be divided into three divisions, the C, D and E divisions, of which will be determined by talent levels. Open registration is from now until May 28. The cost is $610 per team. A late registration timeline — from May 29 to June 3 — also is available, but the team cost will be $650.

Games will take place, starting on June 11, on Wednesdays at Incline Park or Preston Field or on Thursdays at Incline Park.

The final registration deadline is June 3. A mandatory manager’s meeting will take place on June 3 at Aspen Grove. It will be at 6:30 p.m. for the men’s league, and at 7 p.m. for the coed leagues.

Both leagues are for players 18 and older.

Sign up for Pop Warner football, deadline is week from today
North Tahoe Pop Warner Coach Dennis Perry is encouraging Incline Village and Crystal Bay children, as well as others along the North Shore, to sign up to play Pop Warner football this summer.
This program is for children in the North Lake Tahoe area ages 7 through 13 (age is the child’s age on July 31) to play in three separate teams — a 9-9 team, and 8-11 team and an 11-13 team. Perry said the teams are split up based on age level, size and ability.
The next round of registration takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at the Incline Recreation Center. Cost is $170 per youth if paid by that May 7 deadline.
Children and their parents need to bring a copy of a birth certificate, a copy of a recent report card and a check for the registration fee upon registration.
