Filing begins for ‘08 election
Filing for the Nov. 4 general election began Monday at the Elections and Voter Registration Center for Washoe County.
Here is a listing of people who have filed as of 3 p.m. Tuesday for positions which Incline Village residents will vote upon. Filing for open positions closes May 16.
• Incline Village General Improvement District Trustees: Chuck Weinberger, Bea Epstein.
• North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District: Wayne Fischer, Chris Plastiras.
• U.S. House of Representatives: Dean Heller, R-Carson City, John Everhart, I-Elko.
• State Assembly Person 39: James Arnold Settlemeyer, R-Gardnerville.
• County Commissioner 1: John Breternitz, R-Reno.
• Supreme Court Justice Seat D: Mark Gibbons, Thomas Frank Christensen.
• State Board of Education District 9: No candidates listed.
District Court Judges:
• Dept. 1: Janet Berry.
• Dept. 2: David Hardy.
