Crime log: DUIs and more

The following are incident reports submitted by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Incline Village Substation for April 29 to May 5.
Tuesday, April 29
• A male driver was driving westbound on State Highway 28 when a deputy pulled him over. The man was driving on a suspended license and had a warrant for his arrest in Carson City County.

Wednesday, April 30
• Two men grabbed steaks from a Mays Road deli and left the store without paying. Deputies were alerted and gave chase to the men, who dropped the steaks while fleeing and were eventually detained. Both were arrested for larceny.

Thursday, May 1
• A man was driving east on State Highway 28 when deputies noticed he had a cracked windshield which was obstructing his view. The man was pulled over and when deputies made contact they determined the man was intoxicated. He was arrested for DUI and transported to the Washoe County detention facility in Reno.

• A man was pulled over for driving erratically on Lakeshore Boulevard. When deputies made contact with the man, it was determined he was intoxicated and the man was arrested for DUI.

• A male driver ran a stoplight on Country Club Drive. The man was pulled over and could not produce valid identification, so he was arrested and transported to the Washoe County detention facility in Reno.

Saturday, May 3
• A woman at a home on Lariat Circle called to report someone had broke into her home. Deputies arrived and found no trace of an intruder or any damage to the home, but the woman’s front door was unlocked and someone may have entered the home.

• A man was driving eastbound on State Highway 28 near Crystal Bay when he was pulled over for erratic driving. The man displayed signs of intoxication, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI.

• A man was driving westbound on Lakeshore Boulevard without a license plate. He had no driver’s license and no identification and was arrested.

Sunday, May 4
• A 2003 Dodge pickup truck was stolen from a Crystal Bay area casino. The truck’s keys were in the ignition. It was found on Monday, May 5, in the parking lot of another Crystal Bay-area casino, undamaged. Deputies said the keys were found in the vehicle and say they have no leads on a suspect.

• A resident of the 600 block of Saddlehorn Drive saw an out-of-town neighbor’s door ajar and decided to call in the deputies. Deputies investigated and determined there was forced entry into the home. But, with the homeowners away, deputies have not been able to make contact with them to determine whether or not anything was stolen.

Monday, May 5
• A man was stopped for speeding on State Highway 28 at Winding Way. When deputies made contact, the man initially lied about his name and was found with marijuana in plain view. The man was arrested for drug possession and transported to the Washoe County detention facility in Reno.

• Deputies showed up at the 800 block of Southwood Boulevard after it was reported a group of juveniles were preparing to fight. The group dispersed when deputies arrived and none of the juveniles questioned had anything to say about the event.
