The following are incident reports submitted by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Incline Village Substation for June 24 to 30.
Tuesday, June 24
• A dump truck parked along State Highway 28 was found with a tire slashed. Deputies determined the tire cost about $450 and took a report.
• A female was pulled over for speeding on westbound State Highway 28. Deputies contacted her and found she was intoxicated. After failing a field sobriety test, the woman was arrested for DUI and issued a speeding citation.
Wednesday, June 25
• A woman called to report disturbing texts she was receiving on her cell phone from a male acquaintance. He was making unwanted romantic overtures over text messages. Deputies took a report.
• A deputy noticed a young man kicking a sign on the 900 block of Tahoe Boulevard and stopped. The young man ran and the officer gave chase, finally finding he and another young man hiding. The two were over 18 but under 21 years old and gave false names and ages when the deputy questioned them. They were arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol.
Thursday, June 26
• A man was stopped for speeding and appearing to smoke marijuana near the second turnout on State Highway 431. When the deputy made contact the man admitted to smoking marijuana as his car smelled of it. The man allowed the deputy to search the car, and the search turned up 14 grams of cocaine, the prescription drug Xanax and a registered handgun. The man was arrested for the possession of cocaine for sale, possession of a prescription drug and possession of marijuana. The gun was seized for evidence and the man’s car was towed.
• A driver was stopped on State Highway 28 for driving an unsafe vehicle. The male was arrested for failure to produce a driver’s license and identification.
Friday, June 27
• A deputy pulled over a PT Cruiser travelling eastbound on State Highway 28 because a young male was hanging out of the vehicle. The deputy found the 18 year-old male, along with three other under-18 males in the vehicle, were extremely intoxicated. The driver was arrested for DUI, the 18 year-old for minor in consumption and alighting from a vehicle and the other two occupants for minor in consumption. All were from Reno.
• A male was speeding on State Highway 431 near Sheep Flat when he was pulled over by deputies. The man was subsequently arrested for having no driver’s license and no identification.
Saturday, June 28
• A man called to report his handgun was stolen from his vehicle sometime in the last three weeks. Deputies took a report and are investigating.
• A female was arrested after security at a Crystal Bay area casino attempted to escort her from the premises for being too intoxicated. While they tried to walk her out, the woman struck two of the security guards. Deputies were called and arrested her for two counts of battery.
• A man was speeding westbound on State Highway 28 near Reservoir Road when a deputy pulled him over. When the deputy made contact with the man, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested for DUI.
Sunday, June 29
• A man was pulled over on Southwood Boulevard for having expired registration on his vehicle. When deputies made contact they found the man was intoxicated, and after he failed a field sobriety test, arrested him for DUI.
Monday, June 30
• A woman called to report her car was broken into. Though there was no sign of forced entry on her vehicle and the victim insisted the car was locked, $1,700 in CDs were stolen from the car, she said. Deputies took a report and are investigating.
• After a local man received a call from American Express saying there were suspicious charges to his account, he contacted deputies. The man did not, to his knowledge, have an American Express card. Deputies took a report and American Express is handling the fraud.
• A restaurant on the 900 block of Tahoe Boulevard reported their video poker machines were broken into. Deputies are investigating the loss, which totalled $350.
• A man called to report his car had been keyed on Dana Court. Deputies are investigating, but the man believes the suspect may be his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.
