Guest Column:Democratic mis-leadership should not be elected

Print Comment
I write this letter partially as a potential “guest columnist” in response to Mr. Bekowich’s guest column in the June 25 edition. I had previously drafted an article on the same important subject, which is incorporated here.

First of all, I must congratulate the Democrats, many of whom had already been forced to acknowledge the almost universally known facts regarding the deceitful, lying, manipulating and pandering of the Clintons, since years ago.

For years I was a Wilson-FDR-Truman old party Democrat, but I simply could not stay with them as the party changed — LBJ, Carter, Dean, Clinton, Gore, Ted Kennedy, Kerry — under the new Democratic mis-leadership.

But if the Demos remain Demos, where do they now go, other than to Obama, of whom I certainly hope many of them see the light and retreat.

Don’t the Demos really see that Obama has everybody’s vote as the most liberal, young and inexperienced, but also articulate and rhetorical?

What has he ever done for our great county?

Answer: Nothing!

What experience does he have? Virtually none!

We all know little about Obama. You can bet that if we Americans put him and her in our noble White House, we will find out a lot more that we don’t like.

Obama will quickly and prematurely pull our military out of Iraq, probably Afghanistan, and leave a totally unsolvable mess.

Obama and the Demos will not permit drilling out of our own oil, for a shorter term remedy to foreign oil, in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWAR), offshore, and the now proven great reserves in our West. They don’t want to make the caribous unhappy.

Obama will not go for a longer term solution — Nuclear Generation — because of fear something might happen.

Has it in France, where more than half its electricity is nuclear generated?

Of course we must be extremely careful, but we are talking about advancing and enhancing something called technology!

Obama will continue to redistribute the hard-earned wealth of our capitalistic nation by increasing income tax, increasing Social Security tax, reinstating the estate death tax and confiscatory increases in dividends and capital gains.

Republican Sen. John McCain has essentially 180 degree different views, intents and commitments, all of which tend to go in the direction in which our founding fathers (and mothers) intended our country to go, as directly opposed to the liberals.
Compare the stated differences in McCain and Obama as our nation’s commander in chief, if need be. No comparison!

We Americans will be doing a great service to ourselves, and the free world, and the want-to-be free world, with John and Cindy McCain in our White House.

Mr. Bekowich writes mainly of the Mideast conflict, which is both highly important and dangerously serious.

For the record, though, I do not claim to be any kind of expert. Since I was 25 years old and in all subsequent decades, but this one, I have traveled many times as a private citizen, or in a business capacity, as permitted, to the powder keg of North America, the Near-and Middle-East, both among the diverse peoples and leaders, such as: King Hassan II of Morocco; Saudi King Faisal and Prince Bandar bin Sultan; Jordan’s courageous King Hussein, and current King Abdullah, son; Israel’s Gen. Weitzman and Israeli Air Force Chief Mordecai Hod; the Shah of Iran (including the coronation of the Shah, Empress Farah Diba, and their Crown Prince son; President Numeiry of Sudan; Kuwait; United Arab Emirates; Bahrain; Nigeria; Egypt; Pakistan; India).
