The following are incident reports submitted by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Incline Village Substation for July 8-14.
Tuesday, July 8
• No reports.
Wednesday, July 9
• A female subject was hit by a silver vehicle in the parking lot of an Incline Village grocery store. The subject was uninjured, saying the car nicked her and originally planned not to report the incident, but her employer felt it was important to report. Deputies have not been able to locate the car which hit her.
• A license plate was stolen from a local towing company truck sometime during the day Wednesday.
• A local resident called to report he received a bad check after selling two airline vouchers worth $310 online. Deputies took a report and are investigating.
Thursday, July 10
• Employees of a local hotel called deputies when a 17-year-old male refused to leave its beach after repeatedly being asked to. Deputies arrived and cited the male for trespassing.
• Deputies responded to the Thunderbird Lodge after employees notified them of an attempted break-in at the gatehouse. Deputies arrived to find pry marks on the gatehouse door, though the burglars didn’t open the door and nothing was stolen. Blood at the scene was swabbed and sent to the Washoe County crime lab for DNA testing.
Friday, July 11
• Deputies responded to a call of jewelry stolen from a vacation home on the 900 block of Incline Way. The home showed no signs of forced entry, so deputies took a report and are investigating.
• A tourist called to report his smart phone was stolen from his hotel room. Deputies took a report.
• Deputies pulled over a 22-year-old female driver on State Highway 431 near the Mt. Rose Campground after another female complained the 22-year-old battered her. The victim claimed the suspect hit her with a rearview window pried from the suspect’s car. Deputies arrested the suspect and took her in for medical care because her hands were bleeding from using the rearview mirror. The victim refused medical care and suffered minor bumps and bruises.
Saturday, July 12
• A man was pulled over by deputies heading westbound on State Highway 28 at Beowawie Road. He was speeding and when deputies made contact with him it was found the man was intoxicated. Deputies arrested him for DUI after he failed a field sobriety test.
Sunday, July 13
• A vehicle attempted to enter a gated housing community on the 800 block of College Drive and was stopped by the community’s management. The vehicle’s occupants were attempting to repossess a vehicle inside the property, but deputies arrived and cited the occupants for trespassing because they didn’t have permission to enter the private property.
• A local parolee who is required to submit to a breathalyzer each day at the WCSO substation appeared for his test visibly intoxicated by narcotics. The man submitted to a blood test, which is being processed at the Washoe County crime lab. If the test shows the man was under the influence of drugs a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
• The Nevada Highway Patrol towed multiple vehicles parked illegally near Sand Harbor State Park. Troopers from the NHP notified deputies that one of the vehicles belonged to a man with a warrant out for his arrest out of Carson City. Deputies located the man when he was looking for his towed vehicle and arrested him.
Monday, July 14
• Deputies responded to the Crystal Bay-area casinos after one casino reported a male patron hit a security officer in the head. The man was found at another casino directly across the street, where security had repeatedly asked him to leave and also called deputies. The man was arrested for battery and trespassing.
• A man was pulled over at the intersection of State Highways 28 and 431 for failure to maintain his lane of travel. Deputies contacted the man and he appeared to be intoxicated, so he submitted to and subsequently failed a field sobriety test before being arrested for DUI.
