Artist captures Nevada scenes
Local art gallery, Artists At Lake Tahoe, welcomes the work of Louise Noel Howes, a silk artist from Gardnerville, Nev. Howes seeks to capture the big Nevada skies, the rainbow of the Sierra Nevada, and the huge palette of summer wildflowers in her silk paintings. Incredible color and reflected brilliance in her paintings engage the eye and connect to the heart.
Howes brings her background in design and fiber arts, mixes it with her love of whimsy and color, and lets the silk and dyes mesh in vibrant abandon.
Her designs are drawn from her love of the life on the eastern slope of the Sierra, and are brimming with the excitement of a world seen through hopeful eyes.
Artists at Lake Tahoe (formerly Tahoe Quilts) features artwork of 11 local artists. Owner Karen Colberts motto, Tahoe art made in Tahoe, showcases original artwork produced only at Lake Tahoe. Watercolor paintings, fabric art, jewelry, photography, pottery, gourds and art in wood are a few of the artistic mediums represented in the gallery.
Artists at Lake Tahoe is located at 923 Tahoe Blvd. in the US Bank building across from Raleys Shopping Center in Incline Village. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on weekends by appointment.
