Generally, the older someone ages, the less opportunity he or she has to record a remarkable athletic achievement.
On Wednesday, Incline resident Morton J. Port proved that wrong.
Port, at 81 years young, recorded his second-ever hole in one Wednesday at the Championship Golf Course in Incline. He used an 8-iron on the Champ courses 126-yard fifth hole to sink the ace.
Port, who has been golfing for 30 years, got his first ace years ago at Los Coyotes Country Club in Fullerton, Calif.
The next day, across town at the Mountain Golf Course, 56-year-old Larry Buckmaster recorded his first-ever hole-in-one.
Buckmaster, a San Carlos, Calif. resident, sunk his ace on the courses 140-yard 12th hole, using a Rescue 3 club. He said he usually golfs at Lincoln Hills Golf Club in Lincoln, Calif., as well as in Palo Alto, Calif. He has been golfing for 20 years.
