About 120 people attended a Republican Convention Watching Party at Kern Schumachers Incline Village home Thursday night.
The idea for the watch party came after Steve and Denise Ause attended John McCains Town Hall speech in Sparks July 29.
We filled out a card at the event, yet I dont remember checking a box that we would like to help, but we got a call from campaign headquarters asking if we would, Steve said.
He said he and Denise went to the McCain headquarters in Reno and talked with one of the volunteers, and decided that a Convention Watching Party would be beneficial.
Rather than inviting a few friends over to our house, we thought we wanted to do something big, Steve said.
On the day of the Convention, Ause and others arrived at the Schumacher residence to decorate, set up a projection TV, drinks and so forth.
