Girls varsity soccer

The Incline High School girls varsity soccer team defeated Battle Mountain Saturday, 9-1. Assistant coach Mike Pennacchio said Kelli Cherry scored 4 goals; Lindsey Iida, 1; Erin Canino, 1; Megan Peterson, 1; Chloe Brieder, 1; and Tori O'Conner, 1.

Six goals were scored in the first half. In the second half, Coach John Paganelli told the team that scoring would have to take place with either a header or an overlap play. Canino scored on an overlap, while Iida scored on a header.

Battle Mountain scored once in the 77th minute of the 80 minute game.
