Becoming a town?
Another effort to give Incline Village and Crystal Bay more home rule has failed as of election results reported as of 9:50 p.m. from the Secretary of States office.More than 60 percent of voters voted no on the question "This question is advisory only: Do you support the reorganization of the Incline Village General Improvement District into the unincorporated Town of Incline Village?" Another 37 percent voted yes.
Other local, county races
As for the Incline Village General Improvement District Board of Trustees race, Ted Fuller led the candidates with 21 percent of the vote, followed by Bea Epstein with 20 percent and Chuck Weinberger with 19 percent.For the three open seats on the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Board of Directors, voters chose Wayne Fischer, Chris Plastiras and Dale Smith with 26 percent for each.
John Breternitz carried the area's votes to replace Jim Galloway on the Washoe County Commission with 54 percent of the vote to Toni Harsh's 45 percent.
