A two-car accident which occurred today on State Highway 28 near Sand Harbor is slowing traffic to a crawl along the road.
North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Mike Schwartz said the accident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m., would likely back up traffic in both directions until about 6:30 p.m.
It left two people with serious injuries after their Dodge Caliber slammed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.
The two were transported by ambulance to Renown Health Care in Reno for medical attention.
