The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association is reporting heavy winds are expected with a storm expected to hit Tahoe late Friday. Sustained southwest winds of 25 to 45 mph are expected, with gusts of 60 to 70 mph predicted late Friday and early Saturday.
Ridge gusts are expected to exceed 100 mph.
With the addition of snow, motorists traveling State Highway 431 and California State Highways 267 and 89 need to watch out for near-whiteout conditions from blowing snow.
