Some Incline Village and Crystal Bay residents could receive a phone call from Washoe County surveyors beginning in January, asking them to rate different budget priorities and county services.
The survey, conducted by InfoSearch, will take a sample of at least 600 respondents that will be proportionate to the Countys different areas and demographics, said Washoe County Spokeswoman Kathy Carter.
When the results come back, they can be broken down by jurisdiction, district and even precinct.
It will be the most detailed data weve ever had, Carter said.
This detailed data will help county representatives understand the residents of different areas better, Carter said.
This is the sixth time in 12 years that the county has conducted a survey. The last valid survey the county uses was done in 2006. The survey will cost $17,500 to conduct and another $3,500 to put the data into searchable form online.
Even though budgets have been cut back we believe this is an important tool to assess how the citizens rate the county, Carter said.
The over-the-phone questionnaire takes about 12 minutes and participants will be chosen on a random basis.
Results should be ready to present to the Washoe County Board of Commissioners in February.
