TAHOE VISTA Renters in the Tahoe Vista Mobile Estates Trailer Park will meet today at the North Tahoe Family Resource Center to draft a letter to the property owner listing concerns they would like to see addressed.
The North Tahoe Family Resource Center is located at 8321 Steelhead Street in Kings Beach. The group will meet at 6 p.m. today.
This is the third time the group will meet to discuss their concerns. About 20 people attended their second meeting on Jan. 9.
We had a conversation about taking the next steps and looking at areas of concern, said Emilio Vaca, executive director of the North Tahoe Family Resource Center. A lot of it was about hearing the stories of the 30 folks who attended.
The NTFRC is helping coordinate the meetings. However, the idea to gather the renters came from members of that community, including David Escobar.
Escobar said the renters have 10 major areas of concern at the mobile home park, including parking, safety and maintenance.
The meeting is open for anyone to attend, including people in the community who do not live in the mobile homes but want to help.
The one thing really highlighted in the last meeting was regardless of what happens this is really an opportunity to build a community, Vaca said.
