H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu) Phone Hotline Update
For information about the H1N1flu (swine flu), visit www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu.Note that this is the new name of the Center for Disease Control and Preventions Web site for this event. This was changed to reflect the change in the name of the event from swine flu to H1N1 flu. This Web site has a wealth of information on the H1N1 flu that is updated on a regular basis.
If you cannot find the information you need from the Web site or do not have Internet access, the State of Nevada has set up a special phone hotline staffed by bilingual public health professionals to answer general questions about the H1N1 virus:
The number (866) 767-5038 is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This new hotline takes the place of the one set up for Washoe County last week (calls to the previous Washoe County hotline phone number will be forwarded automatically to the new number).
WCDHD spokeswoman Judy Davids asks people to be patient, as the volume of calls can be large at times. If you are calling because of a medical emergency, please hang up and dial 911.
