Kids Corner: Celebrate Father's Day

Father's Day is a day to spend with dad instead of just buying him a present. Think about what your dad likes to do. Does he like to fish, go out on the lake, hike, golf, play tennis or is he into music or movies? All of these are opportunities to do something with dad instead of just getting him a present.

Dad will appreciate his day so much more if he has the chance to do something he likes with you and it could even become a tradition. Don't hesitate to make it an event for the entire family if it is something like hiking or watching movies. Ask them to participate too.

Plan a picnic to take on the hike of dad's favorites and everybody can make something. Make pizza or snacks to have during a movie night.

Other fun ideas that are not expensive are listed below.

Buy dad a Rubber Duck that he can enter in the Red, White and Tahoe Blue duck race. The ducks cost $10 and can be bought at the Village Square Family store. If he wins first prize in the race he will get $700.

Treat him to golf for free at the Championship Golf Course after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday or at the Mountain Course after 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. They even have free golf clinics at the Championship driving range at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

There are so many ways to treat dad without really breaking open your piggy bank and all you have to do is check around for specials.

Celebrate Father's Day Tahoe style this year.
