More good things are happening in our community that I wanted to share with you. Remember to send me information each week at jeick@tahoebonanza.com so I can include your news too.
Have you had an opportunity to meet the newest member of the team at the Incline Village Golf Course? We are fortunate to be able to welcome Neil Gunn to our community. Neil comes to Incline Village with 14 years of golf teaching experience. He has worked at some of the best facilities in the Eastern United States including PGA Golf Club, World Golf Village and most recently TPC Sawgrass, where he was Lead Golf School Instructor. Gunn has taught people of all ages, abilities and from all parts of the world. If you would like to schedule a private lesson to improve your own skills, contact Gunn at (775) 832-1275. Welcome to Incline, Neil.
Next I wanted to share what some of our retired Incline Village residents have been up to lately. Wayne and Cindy McClelland seem to think they retired; however, they have developed a comprehensive website highlighting the Incline Schools and community during all that spare time. The site, inclineschools.org, includes school calendars, summer assignments, school news, web links to school and other child/education-oriented websites, information on the International Baccalaureate program and lots more. It is designed for both families as well as students and anyone interested in knowing more about Incline Village and what is happening at our schools. The website is updated regularly, and you can also sign up for regular e-mails. As of July 1 the website has already had visitors from 39 states and 17 countries. For information, e-mail cindymcc@wamware.com. Way to go Wayne and Cindy.
In case you missed the Salute to the Veterans as part of the opening Red, White and Tahoe Blue celebrations, you should know that children from the Lake Tahoe School and members of the Children's Cabinet of Incline Village's Homework Help Club and the Incline K-3 Elementary School had a special surprise for all the veterans that attended. They created special letters for the veterans and then presented them at the ceremony as a thank you. A special thank you to all of the children and Children's Cabinet for sponsoring this.
Don't forget that with all of the budget cuts by Washoe County our Incline Village Library needs our support. The community can help by “adopting” a magazine, newspaper or periodical that the library needs for 2010. Stop at the library and ask to see the list, make a selection from the list and fill out a gift form. This is a great idea for a birthday gift in honor of someone special.
