INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — After 18 years of hosting a men and women's lacrosse tournament, Incline Village is expanding its exposure for the popular team sport.
This weekend, the Incline Village General Improvement District Village Green will be the scene for the inaugural Lake Tahoe U19 Boys Division Lacrosse Tournament.
Eight teams will compete in the tournament, which takes place Saturday and Sunday. The U19 tournament is among many summer tournaments conducted every year through the Northern California Lacrosse Foundation, a league that features teams from Northern California, as well as nearby states such as Oregon and Colorado.
Between Saturday's matches, a one-hour shooting clinic will take place, ending with the Fastest Shot in Tahoe competition, with the winner receiving a new “Warrior” stick of their choice. There also is a meet and greet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Bowl Incline.
Concessions on Saturday and Sunday will be provided by Crosby's Grill/Pub/Casino, and vendors will be available with lacrosse equipment from Warrior and Brine.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Tahoe Truckee Lacrosse Association, a nonprofit organization promoting youth lacrosse in Tahoe, Truckee and Northern Nevada.
