INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Now is the time to put together a school year scrapbook. Work on it all year long, and at the end of the year you will have a great keepsake.
First gather all of your basic supplies. Special items can be added later.
Next, prepare a few pages. If you have access to a computer print directly on the card stock. If you do not have a computer they can be handwritten or made by using alphabet stickers.
The first page should be a Cover Page. Use a simple title like My School Year 2009-10. Include the grade if you want. Add a photo of the school as it appears now.
Always add little notes around your photos to highlight memories, like Incline Elementary School had a new addition open this year.
Next make a page for the First Day of School or School Begins. Use a photo of your teacher or classroom or just notes and photos of your friends during the first week of school. Be sure to add the date.
Other pages to print can be for classmates, subjects or after school activities.
Always make your pages interesting and fun by including notes from friends, invitations and other special items — your first math paper or a story in English. Embellish the pages with stickers, ribbons, buttons, borders around photos or cutouts.
At the end of the school year I will give you ideas for completing the scrapbook for 2009-10. Stop and visit me at the Bonanza if you want help designing a page or two to get started.
Have fun in school and with your scrapbook.
