A group of local professionals are going to the Dominican Republic to offer their services to the Kids Alive rescue organization.

Kids Alive is an organization dedicated to rescuing children that have been abandoned, abused and neglected. The organization is located in the small town of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. The group will be leaving Oct. 23, and returning Nov. 2.

Dr. David Andrews who lives here in Incline and practices in Carnelian Bay will be heading up the dental aspect of the program. Pastor Dick Randall from the Village Presbyterian Church will be going to head up the spiritual aspect of the trip. A group of highly trained dental hygienists will be going to assist in dental care, they include Jan Talbot, Kathy Fisher, Mary Kay Randall, Kellie Todd, Jennifer Scanland, and Sara Holmes. Renee Taylor has been instrumental in organizing the trip along with Jan Talbot, Dr. Dave Andrews and Dick Randall. Bedford Holmes has been instrumental in obtaining the dental equipment needed.

This group of professionals will be donating their time and energy providing much needed dental care as well as spiritual guidance to the children from Kids Alive.

It is a huge undertaking to get equipment and supplies over there to be prepared to treat as many children as possible in a weeks time. The hope is also to be able to give much needed treatment to those who care for the children.

This group had been working for months to prepare for this outing, with a little help from other large hearted people the team hopes to receive all the dental equipment and supplies needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, you can call Dr. David Andrews in Carnelian Bay at (530) 546-3363, or the Village Presbyterian Church at (775) 831-0784.
