Thatâs it, the last holiday of the summer was Monday. Now we will begin to enjoy fall temperatures and events. It also is a busy time for end of the summer sales in our area.
The famous Village Ski Loft tent sale was over the weekend but is continuing some sale prices, also Incline Outfitters had a great weekend sale as did the golf shop at The Chateau. Now check out your favorite places to see what else is on sale like the upcoming one at High Sierra gardens. Remember that the best sale right now is for a season ski pass. Check out the values available in September at your favorite places and save, save, save.
The kids are all back in school and everyone is busy with PTA meetings, sporting events and lots of other school events. Be sure to check out this Friday nightâs football game with Silver Stage High School. The Incline High School music department plans to debut its new drum line during the game. Students from all sections of the band make up this great group and have been working on lunch breaks in order to participate. This is a group that will definitely entertain all ages so take the family and make it an evening.
If you want to have a gathering at the beach better plan it for sooner rather than later as it does not get much better than this for beach picnics. The Incline Bunco Babes held their annual Beach Bunco Tuesday at Burnt Cedar Beach. It was complete with a barbecue plus lots of laughs. Way to end the season Babes!
Looking for something to replace that evening trip to the beach. Winter bowling begins this week so head on over to Bowl Incline.
I have had a request for a great chocolate chip cookie recipe that works at altitude. Anyone have one that is an altitude proof recipe?
Next up I have been given something like an âold almanacâ prediction for winter already. Seems that some people have heard that we are in for a tough, full of snow winter. Yeah. Did you hear that? The theory seems to have something to do with the height of the pussy willows or how high the woodpeckers are making their nests. Anyone care to offer any other theories or predictions?
Guess no one celebrated birthdays or anniversaries this week as I did not receive any news to share. Isnât anyone else getting older? Send me your birthdays, anniversaries, winter predictions, chocolate chip cookie recipes or other good news to share with the community. E-mail to jeick@tahoebonanza.com.
Get ready to frolic into fall!
