INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The Incline High School varsity football team beat Silver Stage 21-6 Friday night, powered by two touchdown runs by Tyler Cramer and three defensive interceptions by Patrick Murray.
Cramer got his second rushing touchdown on a 12-yard plunge in the fourth quarter, giving Incline the 21-6 lead.
Silver Stage had a few drives in the fourth, but two were cut short on Murray interceptions, with a third drive ending after Enrique Parra sacked the Silver Stage quarterback to record a turnover on downs.
From there, Incline (1-1) ran out the clock to secure its first win of the season, and the first for first-year coach Mike Evans.
Silver Stage scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the third to cut Incline's lead to 14-6. The extra point was blocked.
Murray scored on an 11-yard touchdown run with 7:47 left in the second quarter, giving Incline the two-touchdown lead. Murray juked one defender before lowering his shoulder to carry a Silver Stage defender into the end zone.
Silver Stage threatened to score after recovering an Incline fumble in Highlander territory later in the quarter, but the Nighthawks' Mike McDonald dropped a touchdown pass on fourth and seven, giving Incline the ball with 41 seconds left in the half.
In the first quarter, Cramer scored on a 6-yard touchdown run with 18 seconds remaining, capping a drive that lasted more than 6 minutes.
Murray ran for two long first downs on the drive, which also saw a first-down pass from Murray to Cramer.
