INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Catch the green and gold spirit this week — Incline High School is celebrating homecoming. Lots of events will take place all week long ending with Friday's parade, game and of course a dance for the students.
Students will participate daily all week long in dress up day themes and lunch competitions. Great daily music themes have been selected for the students to find appropriate costumes: Hip Hop, disco, rock ‘n' roll, country and green/gold.
Lunchtime competitions include a rap contest, dance revolution contest, Guitar Hero contest and a country karaoke contest. The final competitions will take place Friday morning during a morning assembly honoring the football team along with other fall sports and the community is welcome to attend the assembly.
But the week really is all centered around Friday's activities. Everyone in the community is invited to line the streets to watch the parade as it heads down from Alder Avenue, then to Northwood and finally out onto Highway 28. It will go down Highway 28 to the Raley's Shopping Center entrance across from the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza and continue through the shopping center lot exiting onto Village Boulevard and returning to the lower parking lots of IHS.
Then, Friday evening is the homecoming football game at 6 p.m. between ROP-Silver State Academy and IHS. The homecoming game is always one of my favorites, a great chance to grab something to eat at the game, watch some football and cheer for our local team. During halftime, the homecoming court appears and the coronation of the king and queen takes place. Yes, this is hometown fun at its best and a great way to spend an evening.
Catch the spirit of homecoming and help Incline High celebrate.
