INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — A large crowd of local residents, Incline High School staff and teachers and school alumni saw seniors MacKenzie Peterson and Jimmy Sagan honored as homecoming queen and king during halftime of the Incline-ROP football game Friday night.

More than 500 people were on hand for the game and halftime homecoming ceremonies. Peterson beat out Sarah Scott, Sasha Severance, Katelyn Wright and Megan Steinmeyer to be crowned queen.

As for the game, the Highlanders struggled against a much bigger and deeper ROP team, falling 40-0. The Highlanders now are 2-3 on the season, and 1-2 in the Northern 2A.

Earlier in the day, students, staff and parents strutted the green and gold down Tahoe Boulevard Friday afternoon in the homecoming parade.

Escorted by vehicles from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and a fire truck from the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, each high school class decorated a float and showed of its school spirit.
