Oktoberfest and Community Fair at Village Center



From Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, the Village Center will host its annual Oktoberfest and Community Fair.

The event kicks off with the Monster Dash, a fundraiser for the Incline High School Cross Country team. Registration at the event begins at 10 a.m. in the upper area of the Village Center. Race is both a run/walk and participants are encouraged to wear costumes. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m. along with raffle winners.

Beginning at noon, the festivities on the lower level of the Village Center will begin with entertainment from the Rock N Roll Comedy Band. Music will include something for all tastes as well as some comedy. The band will play until 4 p.m.

German food and drink will be available from noon to 5 p.m. from Eric Halstead of Village Meats and beer and wine tasting at Bar Bar Bar's Biergarten.

Other special events will take place all day long, and the children will not want to miss the face painting and entertainment when Snow White, the Pirate King, Alice and the Mad Hatter appear from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The Incline High School drum line plans to entertain at 2 p.m., and the ever-popular dog parade will be at 3 p.m.

Throughout the day, the Community Fair will feature the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District giving out flu shots, the Incline Village General Improvement District's health fair, carnival games from the Incline After School Program, arts and crafts will on display from local artists, information booths from several organizations, shopping discounts at many of the shops in the Village Center, soap making demonstrations at the Dead Sea Warehouse and lots more.
