INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Two Incline Village brothers remain in jail this week after officers used a Taser to subdue one sibling before arresting both a week ago.
Michael Thorne, 24, and brother Robert, 26, are in the Washoe County detention facility in Reno, on bails of $5,702 and $4,202, respectively. Robert Thorne faces charges of domestic battery and obstructing/resisting a peace officer, while Michael Thorne is charged with domestic battery, obstructing/resisting a peace officer and damaging jail property.
They was arrested late Sunday, Oct. 18, after deputies came to their home on the 700 block of Kelly Drive to respond to an alleged fight between them, according to a Washoe County Sheriff's report.
According to the report, after deputies arrested Michael Thorne, they re-entered the home and were met by the barking family dog. Robert Thorne restrained the animal and began to swear at the officers, the report said, before becoming violent and physically attacking them with repeated kicks, forcing deputies to employ a Taser to subdue him.
Robert Thorne also allegedly thrashed the backseat area of a patrol vehicle, according to the report, during the ride to jail.
Both are expected to appear on Nov. 6 at the James V. Mancuso Justice Court in Incline for the battery charges and Michael Thorne's property damage charge. A court date hasn't been set for the obstruction charges.
