IVGID offers Youth Advisory Council to local teens



The Incline Village General Improvement District is looking for young people in grades seven to 12 from throughout the Incline Village/Crystal Bay area to form a Youth Advisory Council. The YAC will address issues of education, employment, recreation, youth development, volunteerism and leadership. It will be responsible for programs, events and initiatives that promote positive youth development and involvement in local schools, communities and governments. The youth representatives will work with community leaders, agency and organization personnel, educators, non-profits, local businesses and other youth to create positive change for the youth of Incline Village/Crystal bay. YAC members will be responsible for representing the teen community within Incline Village/Crystal Bay by advising IVGID's board on issues which affects local youth. YAC members will also develop programs and events for their peers and provide access to volunteer opportunities with local non-profit agencies, for developing a quarterly newsletter for distribution to their peers which will include YAC activities, teen programs in Incline/Crystal Bay, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.
