Just Jean: Calling all Toms for Project MANA

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Thanksgiving is only three weeks away and Project MANA's annual Thanksgiving distribution will be Saturday, Nov. 21. That is less than 20 days away! Each year Project MANA provides a frozen turkey and all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal to local families in need.

Last year 431 families received a traditional Thanksgiving meal from Project MANA, which distributes to Incline, Truckee and Kings Beach.

Project MANA's distributions during the last three months have increased each month, and the group is expecting that will also be true in November. Project MANA needs our help now in order to have the necessary items by Nov. 21.

Ways to help including sponsoring a family, providing frozen turkeys or other food items needed. For $25 a family will be able to receive the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Frozen turkeys can be purchased and dropped off at Project MANA, located in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center, or at the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza's office at 925 Tahoe Blvd., St. 206 — conveniently located across the street from Raley's. Food supplies can also be dropped at either location and cash or checks as well.

Let's work together to be sure that everyone in our community can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
