Lettter to the Editor: Incline's silver tongue

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Incline Village General Improvement District's legal counsel, Scott Brooke, is the voice of absolute uncertainty! Spouting off and saying that the districts position with regards to the beach lawsuits is “looking favorable” (Thursday, Oct. 29 North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, page 14) is about as accurate as Saddam Hussein's right hand man saying “the war was going well and victory is in our grasp.”

Both statements beg for accurate information, both statements are coddling up to the boss and both statements are absolute garbage! The decision whatever that will be is in the hands of the judges, and to speculate with a statement that it is “looking favorable” at this juncture is nothing but district propaganda. Let's give the village people some false hope in the light of some startling discovery motions.

Or maybe Mr. Brooke is trying to give the “nuisance” members something to cheer about! Whatever his intentions, as a lawyer practicing in Nevada he should know better than to speculate on pending decisions. When the court does render a ruling, then Mr. Brooke you can offer an opinion. I would suggest until then you keep quiet and let the judges do their thing.
