Bear sightings
• November 16 at 1:30 a.m. — Large bear approximately 600 pounds, broke garage door trying to get in. Extensive damage to 2 garage doors.• Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. — I observed a bear in the woods off my back patio from the Pointe Condo Building within the Third Creek Community. The black bear appear about 200 pounds and quickly moved away when it heard voices from my patio. There also appears to be a large quantity of bear scat in the common grassy area in the Third Creek community next to the Dumpsters. Bear sightings have been very common in this location throughout the summer.
• Large black bear approx. 500 pounds. Sighted on Oct. 14 at 12:40 p.m. on the west loop of Pine Cone Circle just south of Lakeshore Drive.
• Oct. 9 at 837 Southwood Blvd No. 15 — Around a little after midnight, a bear was seen walking up my condos back parking lot toward the recycling bin and garbage. It was a big bear and healthy looking. I was coming out of my car and took a couple of steps away from my car when I saw the bear. The bear saw me and kept on walking up toward the garbage/recycling bin. I got back in my car and drove around the block. When I came back the bear was no where to be found.
• On Oct. 7 at about 8 p.m., a brown bear was sighted eating trash in open space near the intersection of Geraldine and Jennifer. The prior week, trash was left out on the street overnight at Jennifer and Susan by a new resident and was raided by an animal (probably a bear).
• Oct. 6 between midnight and 6 a.m. a bear attempted to get into the enclosure at Royal Pines at 820 Oriole Way. There is damage to the door and it may be sprung. One bag of trash was pulled out through the opening made by forcing the door, but overall the structure held.
• Sept. 5: I was woken up in the middle of the night by two very loud pounding noises that vibrated our house. In the morning, we found muddy, large pawprints that started at the top of our garage door and slid down, gouging out the wood door. We did not have any trash in the garage, but did have recycles. We think this is the second time a bear has tried to get into our garage. The previous occurrence was last year.
• Sept. 3, at 11:15 a.m. — Large bear strolled across yard at 583 Rockrose Ct., crossed Knotty Pine and continued down the hill through neighbor's yard.
• Aug. 21 at 2 a.m.. — Bear aggressively trying to break in to garage at 815 Ellen Court. Was very difficult to scare bear away, though he eventually left the property without breaking in.

• Aug. 17 at 10:15 a.m. — A very large bear roaming from creek across Pinion Pine and Rosewood Circle and then through a chain link fence in Incline Creek Estates.
• Aug. 15 a 250-plus pound bear with a yellow tag on his right ear walked from Lakeshore Boulevard down the middle of Vivian Lane into my yard at 1560 Vivian Saturday afternoon at 6:28 p.m. I went outside and chased confronted the bear and it moved east through my neighbor's yard to Pine Cone Circle.
