Shearl Yvonne Bond passed away peacefully on Nov. 10 at the age of 81 under the compassionate care of the Hospice of the Foothills during her stay at the Grass Valley Care Center.
Shearl was born Dec. 10, 1928, in San Francisco, to Ben and Nola Paulsen. She attended Galileo High School in San Francisco. During the early 1960s Shearl owned and operated the Silverado Guest Ranch, located in Napa Valley, Calif., which was known as a favorite getaway spot for many San Francisco bay area elite.
In the early 1970s she established Bond Interiors located in San Rafael, Calif., and eventually retired to her favorite vacation and holiday destination of Incline Village, Nev., in 1977. She spent many years enjoying living on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, boating and entertaining friends and family.
Shearl recently moved to Penn Valley, Calif., to be closer to her only son, Machen MacDonald and his wife Laura and to enjoy her three grandchildren Drake, Shane and Adriane.
In accordance with her wishes no funeral services will be held.
Her family will celebrate her life privately.
