On Feb., 8, 2010, the Boy Scouts of America officially turned 100 years old. Incline Village Troop 37 and Pack 37 celebrated this momentous date with a memorable banquet at The Chateau. It was attended by nearly 250 people with Scouting in their hearts. We would like to thank everyone who attended, who shared their memorabilia, and who shared their stories for making it such a special evening.
We could not have held this special event without the help of so many people. Specifically we would like to thank Bill Horn and the IVGID Board of Trustees for their support of Scouting now and always; the great IVGID Banquet staff; Chuck and Terri Swing of T's Rotisserie for the excellent meal; Scott Comstock of the Hacienda for a great buy on produce; George LeBard for his help with the huge salad; Rainbow Printing for bailing us out of a program printing fiasco on very short notice; Sean Oliver for his rendition of “The Ballad of Blasphemous Bill”; Joy Strotz for her photography at the dinner; and the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza for a great front-page story! The evening was indeed a community event and we were honored to host it.
For the past 100 years BSA has helped instill character, citizenship, and fitness in millions of boys. We are proud to have been a part of such an excellent organization and look forward to the next 100 years.
