For the second year in a row, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is participating in the Wounded Warriors Disable Sports Project “Ability Celebration,” for soldiers and marines returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project is a partnership between Disabled Sports USA, its chapters and the Wounded Warrior Project and provides year-round sports programs for severely wounded service members from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict and the Global War on Terrorism.
Disabled Sports USA, Far West, was started by Douglas J. Pringle, a war veteran disabled in Vietnam in 1967. The organization reaches out to newly disabled military service men and women with support and rehabilitation.
The Hyatt will be a host sponsor from Tuesday, March 16 to Sunday, March 21, providing accommodations for all of the soldiers as well as staff and organizers during the week long celebration. The celebration will bring more than 25 disabled soldiers and marines recently returned from war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan to Tahoe. Throughout the program the participants will receive hope, support and fun during the sports clinic promoting athleticism. For information, call the Hyatt (775) 832 – 1234 or visit www. laketahoe.hyatt.com.
