Yes, it is September in Tahoe. The beaches, stores and town are open for locals. This is our vacation time. Get out and enjoy everything that visitors do when in our village — OK maybe not the horn honking, swim suits in the markets or arguing with the beach attendant, but do enjoy why we live here. And I know it is not to get yet another phone book. Do we really need one with recipes?
Over the weekend the Fallen Leaf Neighborhood again celebrated the end of summer with its annual picnic, the Village Ski Loft had its annual sale and so did High Sierra Gardens. Look around for more sales in the next couple of weeks.
I understand that Susan Herron met her cereal hero recently, Mr. Di Arie, aka Cap n' Crunch. Actually Mr. Di Arie invented the process of making the cereal for Quaker Oats. This incredible food scientist is also a winemaker/owner and was found at Incline Spirits over the weekend.
Carson Country Bowling Association will holds its first tournament of the season at Bowl Incline. It is a senior tournament and open to bowlers age 55 and above. Anyone interested in participating in the tournament on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 needs to contact Susan Herron or Bowl Incline.
Congratulations to Carol Buck and Allan Burrows — both are fortunate enough to have had a Hole in One. Way to go.
Marilyn and Art Berliner celebrated their anniversary on Sept. 10. Happy Anniversary!
Somehow, Paul Reynolds' 75th birthday slipped by in August so everyone needs to help him celebrate in September.
