INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, through the efforts of Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, recently announced it has awarded to the League to Save Lake Tahoe with a grant of $10,000.
“We are honored to support the League to Save Lake Tahoe and their valuable contributions to our community,” said Fred Findlen, general manager of Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, in a statement. “It is a top priority for us to be active participants in our area, and Hyatt Community Grants gives us the great opportunity to give back to the local organizations that do so much for our community.”
According to a press release, as key supporters of the League to Save Lake Tahoe's ongoing mission, Hyatt employees have inspired eco-friendly responsibility through environmental cleanups and other various sustainable deeds in efforts to maintain a healthy and clean lake. With the grant, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe hopes to influence others to be environmental stewards of the next generation.
“Receiving this grant is a great honor, and we are thankful that Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe nominated our organization to be the recipient of this generous donation,” said Bob Damaschino, president of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, in a statement. “We know this grant will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals of protecting and preserving the ecosystem's health and scenic beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin.”
Funding for the grant is provided by Hyatt Hotels Foundation, a donor-advised fund created in conjunction with the National Philanthropic Trust. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is among 27 Hyatt properties from around the world that will award grants to nonprofits in their local communities. Since the program's inception in 2008, Hyatt hotels have awarded more than $1,054,000 to nonprofit organizations in 84 communities and 30 countries around the world.
